Call for Papers: The 3rd Young Scholars’ Conference on China Studies “Global Perspectives on China Studies”

The 3rd Young Scholars’ Conference on China Studies will be held on 14 -15 December 2015 at the Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong. This conference aims at offering a great opportunity for postgraduate students and young faculty members to build up a stronger professional network in China Studies to better facilitate your research and future development.

 

Organizers & Co-organizers:

The organizers of the Conference are China Studies Programme, Hong Kong Baptist University, Institute of Creativity and Advanced Institute for Contemporary China Studies of Hong Kong Baptist University. Co-organizers of the Conferences including: School of Humanities, School of Social Sciences, Institute of Education of Tsinghua University, Institute of Taiwanese History, Academia Sincia, Taipei, Central Washington University, Asia-Pacific Cluster for Chinese Entrepreneurial Studies, the University of Queensland, Australia, Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, Canada, Max Weber Foundation, Germany.

 

Conference Themes:

We are inviting proposals for paper presentation addressing the “Global Perspectives on China Studies” through one of the following themes:

  • Economics
  • Sociology
  • International Relation Studies
  • Educational Studies
  • Business and Management
  • Geography
  • History
  • Language Studies
  • Cultural Studies
  • Sinology

Proposal ideas that extend beyond these thematic areas will also be considered.

Submission of Abstracts:

Interested scholars are welcome to submit your paper title and abstract on or before 11 September, 2015 by email (chinast@hkbu.edu.hk). Authors of the accepted papers will be allowed present at the Conference. The Conference honors papers that exemplify the highest standards in enlightenment and academic contribution. Members of the Conference Committee would select 2-3 winning papers for the Outstanding Paper Award. Interested participants please submit your FULL paper on or before 20 November by email (chinast@hkbu.edu.hk).
Outstanding Paper Award:

Members of the Conference Committee would select 2-3 winning papers for the Outstanding Paper Award.

 

Conference Details: 

For overseas participants, HKBU would provide accommodation at the NTT International House in the campus, on a twin sharing basis from Dec. 13 to Dec 16. Meals during the 2-days-conference are included. Registration fee for the conference is waived.
